Stuart Lubbock: Pool death suspect released under investigation

A man arrested on suspicion of the murder and indecent assault of Stuart Lubbock at the home of entertainer Michael Barrymore has been released under investigation by police.

Mr Lubbock, 31, was discovered dead in the TV moderator’s pool in Roydon, Essex, in March 2001 after a gathering. The anonymous suspect, matured 50, was captured in Cheshire on 17 March following “critical new data”, Essex Police said. He was delivered on bail until 12 April. On Sunday Essex Police said: “A 50-year-elderly person captured on doubt of the revolting attack and murder of Stuart Lubbock has been delivered being scrutinized while our enquiries continue.”Last month Det Supt Lucy Morris said the examination had been “amazingly extensive and complex”. “We have never abandoned discovering what precisely befell Stuart and we won’t stop in our quest for equity for him and for his loved ones,” Det Supt Morris said. Mr Lubbock, a butcher from Harlow, was depicted by neighbors at the hour of his demise as a “charming, amiable” man. A posthumous assessment discovered Mr Lubbock had endured “awful” wounds preceding his demise, police said.Alcohol, happiness and cocaine were found in his circulatory system. Nobody has at any point been accused of any offense according to his demise. Mr Barrymore and two different men were captured in 2007 on doubt of rape and murder, yet were subsequently delivered without charge. The TV character, who was known for shows including Strike It Lucky, has consistently denied inclusion in the passing. An examination into Mr Lubbock’s demise, in 2002, recorded an open decision.
